HOSPITALS demonstrates an exemplar energy conscious design of 5 different European hospitals and health care buildings. The 5 sites includes large and small new built and renovated buildings, eco-buildings and old buildings in very poor shape. Key objectives are: To implement and demonstrate the use of renewable technology elements in health care buildings, to achieve significant energy savings for heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic hot water and to achieve large emission reductions of green house gasses, to ensure optimised thermal and visual comfort and air quality conditions leading to faster recovery and faster discharges of patients, to disseminate the achieved results to a wide international audience involved in the health care sector
